Children with autism in MediaÈ™ will have a sensory alley

Extremely interesting project in MediaÈ™. The Red Cross of MediaÅŸ aims to arrange a sensory alley for children with autism, inside the Day Center for children with disorders from the autistic spectrum of Saint Casian in MediaÈ™.

The alley would have a length of about 30 meters will be made of natural materials, where hiking barefoot on portions of sand, gravel of various sizes and shapes, fir cones, tree bark, sawdust, logs, grass and corn cobs should be a way of relaxation and therapy for them.

The direct beneficiaries of the services offered within this project are the 15 children currently enrolled in the Day Center for children with autism spectrum disorders Saint Casian, the 53 children who will cross the threshold of the Center, as well as children or people with sensory disabilities, physical and multiple.

Expenses will exist only with construction materials, vegetation and consumables, totaling approximately 5,000 Lei. The design and construction of the alley is done through voluntary work. The Mediaș Red Cross proposed this year the project of the sensory alley, a project that qualified for the participation in the International Marathon in Sibiu.

There are two ways in which those interested can contribute. Runners who want to enter the competitions choose the sensory alley project that they support through the participation fee and by mobilizing a circle of supporters who share the same desire. Also, if you do not participate in the Marathon, consult the list of those who run for the cause of the MediaÈ™ Red Cross and choose who you support with a sum of money.

The Day Center for children with autism spectrum disorders, Saint Casian, was recently set up in MediaÈ™, in whose activity the sensory alley would represent an effective tool for recovery.

Walking barefoot helps to release negative feelings and restore organic and intellectual balance, contributes to the release of psychological pressure. By creating the sensory alley, the Red Cross wants these children with autism to follow intensive therapy programs that lead to a functional recovery from developmental delays and their adaptation to the environment in which they live, especially with the environment.

At the same time, it is hoped that the attitude and behavior of children towards those around them will change, that they will start to be more attentive, tolerant and more interested in the environment, that new skills and knowledge will be formed and finally, to change children's mental , that is, to become happy.
