Our story

Suntem o asociatie din orasul Medias jud Sibiu compusa din părinți a copiilor cu autism, avand ca scop recuperarea copiilor nostri.Într-o lume în care a fi diferit nu este tolerat ușor, în care dreptul la educație și o copilărie fericită este furat de diagnostice pe care copiii le primesc din ce în ce mai des, am înțeles că împreună, părinți și specialiști trebuie să luptăm impreuna pentru recuperarea copiilor noștri.In prezent 1 din 44 de băieţi şi 1 din 84 de fete sufera de tulburare din spectrul autist.

Asociatia a fost înființată în anul 2018 și este formată din 5 părinți cu copii diagnosticați cu autism. Între timp numarul copiilor de care ne ocupam a ajuns la 22. Vorbim despre copii cu afecțiuni din gama autismului ,TSA, ADHD, retard în dezvoltare, copii cu Cerințe Educaționale Speciale.(CES)
We started on this road because there are not enough places in Mediaș to treat these diseases and we thought it was time for us, the parents, to get involved.
These children need as therapy treatment, they need behavioral therapy, sensory therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, therapies that should be done daily and should not be interrupted. These therapies cost a lot. The children in the association are between 3 and 13 years old and many have chances to recover.
Asociația Sfântul Casian a dorit înfințarea unui centru de zi pentru copii, unde terapia să fie gratis. Până nu demult ni s-a spus că nu există așa ceva și nu va exista niciodată. Ei bine, noi, nu ne-am mulțumit cu acest răspuns și am continuat “ lupta”.
We thought we would succeed and we would not give up. Following several discussions with the County Council and Mediaș City Hall, they decided to help us by paying us the salaries of 3 therapists and offered us a space in which to carry out our activity. For us, this means that the sky has finally turned blue, that we have not fought in vain.
We still need teaching materials, materials for the sensory room, we will have expenses with the opening of the space.

So what at first seemed like a dream, today is a joyful reality. Although we have little time since its establishment, the Saint Casian Medias Association has become the bridge on which these special children, with TSA, autism and ADHD coming out of isolation, step into the world they deserve. To all this is added the essential ingredient: "Children with special needs feed with attention, love and play."
